If you want to tell the story of aviation, one name must not be left out: Focke-Wulf. The renowned German aircraft manufacturer from Bremen is known for its aircraft models and technical achievements. On October 24, 1923, Heinrich Focke and Georg Wulf founded Bremer Flugzeugbau AG, a company that had a significant influence on the entire aviation industry. On January 1, 1924, it became Focke-Wulf-Flugzeugbau AG. The founding members were the Bremen businessmen Otto Bernhard, Otto Schurig and Ludwig Roselius as well as Heinrich Focke as Head of Design, Georg Wulf as Head of Testing and Dr. Werner Naumann as Commercial Director.
Focke-Wulf - A legacy in Bremen aviation
100 years of aircraft construction in Bremen - The historical roots of Focke-Wulf
As a pioneer in aviation, Focke-Wulf quickly made a name for itself in both military and civil aviation. After an eventful history before, during and after the Second World War, Focke-Wulf began building gliders in 1951. Production of powered aircraft was resumed in 1955. The aerospace division was spun off in 1961 and integrated into the newly founded company ERNO. In 1963, Focke-Wulf merged with Weser-Flugzeugbau GmbH to form Vereinigte Flugtechnische Werke (VFW). The company's shares later passed into the ownership of EADS and Airbus.
Bremen is also celebrating "100 years of aircraft construction" this year, with "Focke-Wulf Flugzeugbau AG" commencing operations on January 2, 1924. 100 years later, Bremen is one of the outstanding locations in the European aerospace industry and the future UAS Control Center Bremen (USSP) is paving the way for the future of aviation, unmanned aviation.
b.r.m. IT & Aerospace GmbH - Shaping the future of aviation together
b.r.m. IT & Aerospace GmbH, as a future U-Space Service Provider with the UAS Control Centre Bremen (USSP), sees enormous potential in the integration of IT & UAS to revolutionize the entire aerospace industry. Similar to what Focke-Wulf achieved back then with new aircraft models.
UAS and UAV: the future of aviation
Of course, manned flight remains an important part of the aviation industry. Nevertheless, UAS, both VLOS and BVLOS operations offer great potential. From both a scientific and economic perspective, unmanned flights with drones can have many advantages for various industries.
