25 years of b.r.m.

Pioneers of digitization

In October 1991, b.r.m. was founded in Harald Rossol's apartment in Lilienthal. In 1992, the IT service company moved into premises on the Bremen university campus, as a typical 'start-up' in the IT sector. But the term 'start-up' didn't even exist back then. The founder, Harald Rossol, initially advised companies on equipping themselves with digital infrastructure. However, the demand for server-based IT services was still manageable at the time. In many places, modems were still beeping and screeching, and meter-long paper queues poured out of fax machines.
As we know, this changed quickly. When global networking became unavoidable for companies, b.r.m. set up a technically highly advanced data center that successfully focused on the needs of companies, administrations and institutions. The result was a multiple award-winning IT service provider for efficient and cost-effective digital services, with a team of consultants and a data center that has been certified for quality, environment and occupational health and safety with its integrated management system according to 'ecostep' since 2005, in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and BS 18001.
After the company's first move to Bremen's overseas port, Harald Rossol became skeptical at the sight of constantly rising electricity bills. b.r.m. successfully challenged a number of IT beliefs and developed a new digital infrastructure in the data center. This formed the blueprint when the company owner co-developed the 'Blue Angel certificate for energy-efficient data centers'. This was done in collaboration with the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, the Federal Environment Agency and the Technical University of Berlin.
With its data center, b.r.m. is now a recognized partner of the German Energy Agency. In 2009, the IT service company was honored by Bremen's environmental senator as an exemplary 'climate protection company'.
In 2016, b.r.m. once again fundamentally optimized its data center to meet the growing digital demand and data traffic of its customers, and performance was once again significantly increased. As a result, b.r.m. still has one of the most efficient energy-optimized data centers in Germany today.
Nevertheless, in view of falling global energy prices , energy efficiency is no longer the driving force behind b.r.m.'s growth. Today, data security, the round-the-clock service seven days a week and the rapid IT solution expertise of the employees in general form the basis for a decision in favor of b.r.m.. This is where the company scores particularly well. The future and the need for an IT service provider like b.r.m. are therefore assured. In the words of Harald Rossol: "Anyone looking for the best IT services can achieve this goal safely and easily with us."
Last but not least, b.r.m. uses intelligent positioning on the market: b.r.m. wants to remain an innovative and partnership-based company that grows above all in terms of quality. Under these conditions, 'communication at eye level' can then succeed. "For me, growth is not a quantitative term," says Harald Rossol: "For us, it is above all the quality of the services that grows. In this respect, we also like to appear a little elitist".
For such reasons, many customers and employees have remained loyal to b.r.m. for over a quarter of a century. In the words of Harald Rossol: "I can only be grateful to everyone involved for such a high level of customer and employee loyalty. Those who get to know us tend to stay with us. There is no better proof that we are on the right track."
The Weser-Kurier also reported on this: "IT company on the market for 25 years - start-ups have always existed"
