U-Space Service Provider, SORA, BVLOS, and the U-Space Real-World Laboratory in Northwest Germany

Based in Bremen since 1991—with its own test airfield in Oldenburg-Hatten for UAS operations and certification

Founded in 1991 by Harald Rossol, b.r.m. e.K. started out as an IT start-up in Bremen. After more than 30 years, b.r.m. has now developed into b.r.m. IT & Aerospace GmbH, the service provider in the IT and aviation industry. In 2023, not only has the name changed, but the management team has also grown. In addition to Harald Rossol, Markus Rossol has joined the company as a further generation and managing partner. Despite many changes and further developments, one thing has not changed: Innovation and expertise characterize us and drive us every day.

Bremen is not only home to b.r.m. IT & Aerospace GmbH, but also one of the leading hubs for the European aerospace industry and the future b.r.m. UAS Control Center in Bremen (USSP).

Using IT to Safely Navigate the Future of Unmanned Aviation

Today, our service portfolio includes not only various IT services but also consulting on UAS, SORA, VLOS, and the operation of BVLOS flights. We are your trusted partner from concept development through to approval. As a future U-Space Service Provider, we offer comprehensive support and services in all areas of unmanned aviation.

Your decisive advantage in unmanned aviation

As a future U-Space Service Provider (USSP), b.r.m. IT & Aerospace GmbH serves as an experienced partner. With a UAS developed in-house and Europe’s most extensive flight clearance covering over 3,600 km², we give you the decisive advantage for long-term success in the drone market. With the help of our UTM Data Services, you benefit from various solutions such as weather services, electronic visualization, and even a digital air situation picture. In addition to technical solutions, our partner Flugschule Borkum GmbH supports you with qualified training for remote pilots. As one of the first applicants for the “Light UAS Operator Certificate” (LUC), we are your direct partner for BVLOS and the establishment of professional flight operations.

Here you will find our latest status report on U-Spaces in Germany and Europe in 2026. Please feel free to contact us to learn more about the opportunities and benefits of unmanned aviation.

Hatten-UAS: The center for innovation

The Hatten-UAS German Flight Center is our testing facility for unmanned aviation. As part of the Oldenburg-Hatten EDWH airfield, companies, government agencies, and research institutions can test and evaluate drones and other unmanned aircraft systems. We offer organizations a comprehensive package, ranging from ground testing to customer presentations.

Advanced Air Mobility (AAM): The future of aviation

The Advanced Air Mobility Initiative for Northwest Germany and the German Bight (AAM-NW), a continuation of the U-Space Real-World Lab project concept, promotes the integration of unmanned aircraft into shared airspace. The goal is to simplify and enhance the safety of UAS operations through automation and coordination. In an upcoming U-Space real-world laboratory, we will investigate this exciting innovation in the field of aviation and gather experience for new automated operational strategies.

Would you like to learn more about the services offered by b.r.m. IT & Aerospace GmbH? Are you looking for an experienced and successful partner in the field of unmanned aviation? WHAT MAKES US SPECIAL
Why b.r.m. in unmanned aviation

For us, unmanned aviation is not a topic for the future, but part of our daily practice. For years, we’ve been laying the groundwork for a safe, digital drone airspace—from our own testing infrastructure to U-Space services and research. A U-Space is a geozone embedded within an existing airspace structure, where additional digital services enable the safe, coordinated operation of drones. That’s exactly what we’re working on—and that’s what sets us apart:

  • In-house testing center

Through the Hatten UAS German Flight Center, we operate a digital drone airfield where real-world UAS operations are tested—not in a lab, but in actual flight operations.

  • Large-scale BVLOS flight area

Our flight clearance covers the area from the Oldenburg-Hatten airfield across the Jadebusen to the North Sea—a contiguous area of over 3,600 km² for flights beyond visual line of sight. Learn more about this in the U-Space Real-World Laboratory in Northwest Germany

  • On the Path to Becoming an U-Space Service Provider

Together with the UAS Control Center in Bremen, we are developing the six mandated U-Space services so that we can facilitate coordinated drone operations in the future as a certified USSP.

  • In-House Research & Development

In projects such as SKADRO (UTM/ATM) and SafeUAVnav, we are working on drone communication and robust navigation—even in areas where GNSS is disrupted.
