Domain: The small network within the large one
A domain - not to be confused with 'domain' - is used in the IT sector when dealing with a closed (company) network. In most cases, this is a 'Windows domain', which is of course also based on this operating system. The system administrator assigns the access data and also monitors the joining of a new 'client' (a new Windows computer). He sets up a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and the Domain Name System (DNS), which ensures participation in the local network.
