Climate protection: Calculating with foresight
The upcoming climate conference will finally limit the rise in temperature to two degrees Celsius compared to pre-industrial times. Economists are therefore already warning of a 'carbon bubble', i.e. the crash of overvalued companies in the oil and gas industry. This is because they have too many fossil fuels in their portfolios. No one should therefore claim that climate protection is a marginal and irrelevant issue, regardless of whether they are on the side of the skeptics or the apocalyptics. New regulations will come, including for the constantly growing IT industry, whose energy consumption is still underestimated by laypeople. Those who are early adopters of green IT will also be ahead of the game when it comes to climate protection.
