b.r.m. IT & Aerospace GmbH is on the way to ISO/IEC 27001

The path to certification in accordance with ISO/IEC 27001 "Information security, cyber security and data protection - Information security management systems - Requirements" is arduous and time-consuming. The first hurdles have already been successfully overcome and the first audit successfully completed.

The further certification steps will take place in the course of Q2-Q3/2024.

Following the successful recertification of the EcoStep 5.1 certification for our integrated management system in February of this year, we are rounding off our future activities as a USSP (U-Space Service Provider) with ISO/IEC 27001 as a whole.

Mr. Marius Ammermann will be happy to provide you with further information. You can reach us by phone at +49 421 34 14 94 and by e-mail at brm@brm.de.

Advanced Air Mobility - for more advanced aviation

Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) combines the terms Urban Air Mobility (UAM) and Regional Air Mobility (RAM). In general, UAM refers to the transportation of people and goods within an urban area and RAM applies to the transportation of people and goods for nearby communities.

Promotion of drone traffic - Advanced Air Mobility

As the development of new aircraft and propulsion concepts progressed, the need arose for a concept, now known as "Advanced Air Mobility (AAM)", which combines the development and implementation of innovative aviation technologies. This includes the integration of aircraft with new propulsion technologies in new operational areas, for example new battery-powered vertical take-off aircraft in urban areas. However, in order for the AAM concept to be successfully implemented, global approval standards are required, taking into account the integration of UAS Traffic Management (UTM) and Air Traffic Management (ATM). Several teams of aviation experts are working together to make recommendations to the German government on the development and implementation of a uniform strategy across Germany.

Advanced Air Mobility offers many advantages: The future application possibilities of unmanned flying objects will be multiplied in the long term and electrification or other propulsion options will provide sustainable alternatives to conventional local passenger transportation in urban air mobility. The principles of AAM could expand in the future, particularly in the areas of air transportation in extended urban areas and between cities, freight delivery and private and leisure aircraft. Future express transportation and faster and more accurate emergency medical services are just two of the many potential applications of these new technologies. The increasing potential use of drones can be served by AAM with the latest technologies and safety standards. In summary, Advanced Air Mobility has the task of integrating innovative aviation technologies into aviation in terms of safety, sustainability and efficiency.

Advanced Air Mobility Initiative Northwest Germany and German Bight & UAS Control Center Bremen (USSP)

Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) is the integration of unmanned or autonomous aircraft into a common airspace with manned aviation.

The aim of the Advanced Air Mobility Initiative Northwest Germany and German Bight (AAM-NW) is the successive development of structures within which the operation of UAS is considerably simplified and automated and safety is increased, taking into account all relevant airspace users. In a U-Space real laboratory, experience is to be gathered for the creation of future highly automated operating strategies.

Visit us at the AERO in Hall 2 (Stand 309, Bremen) and discuss with us how your future UAS applications can get off to a successful start. Bremen is also celebrating 100 years of aircraft construction this year, with "Focke-Wulf Flugzeugbau A.G." starting operations on January 2, 1924. 100 years later, Bremen is one of the outstanding locations in the European aerospace industry and the future UAS Control Center Bremen (USSP) is ushering in the future of aviation, unmanned aviation.

Post-growth & Green-IT - b.r.m. in the resource efficiency event series of Thega

Postwachtum & Green-IT - b.r.m. in the resource efficiency event series of Thega in Thuringia

Post-growth & green IT - b.r.m. in Thega's resource efficiency event series. As part of the "Resource Efficiency Qualification", Thega from Thuringia offers further training for consultants. This is carried out with the support of the Thuringian Ministry of the Environment's State Initiative for Resource Conservation. In what is now the third block of the series, practical examples will be discussed and we are particularly pleased that Mr. Harald Rossol will be able to present b.r.m. and the award-winning green IT data center.

Qualification for resource efficiency through the Thega

SMEs can receive funding for resource efficiency measures through the Thuringian GREEN Invest funding program. The consultancy itself is also supported. Thega's series of events focuses on the continuous training of experts in the field of resource efficiency. In particular, the methods and instruments for analyzing and increasing resource efficiency in production processes are addressed. Theory and practice will be discussed over a total of 6 days. On 27.04.2022, various practical examples of resource efficiency will be presented, including b.r.m.'s green IT data center.

Energy and resource efficiency in data centers - Green IT

The environment and IT must not and should not be thought of separately. The energy costs of IT systems are still not recorded separately and therefore cannot be optimized.

The focus of new IT systems is on energy efficiency while maintaining high quality and security. We have developed a cost-effective operating concept that can save more than 60% energy - using standard market software and server components.

b.r.m. is a pioneer in green IT and helped develop the 'Blue Angel' certificate for energy-efficient data centers in collaboration with the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety and the German Federal Environment Agency. Our energy-efficient data center has been certified for quality, environment and occupational safety with its integrated management system according to 'ecostep' since 2005. In the same breath, the association blühfläche.de e.V. should also be mentioned, which is committed to the preservation and development of flowering areas and strips in northern Germany.

Post-growth leads to sustainable companies

These and other companies are synonymous with the efficient use of resources and their careful handling under the term post-growth. The fact that post-growth & green IT is also represented by b.r.m. at the Thega series of events on resource efficiency is naturally a particular pleasure for us. The basic idea behind the alternative economic model "post-growth economy" is that the economy should also function without growth. The current competition in the economy, which is all about faster, higher and further, is depleting natural resources.

As early as 1972, the Club of Rome warned of the consequences of unchecked economic growth. The path to post-growth can begin with small steps. For example, reducing output can lead to an improvement in quality. Certain products and services should be offered less, but in higher quality.

This topic was also recently discussed in Impulse magazine, in whose article. b.r.m. is also cited as an example. Interested readers can find these articles here.
